Set in a fishing lodge in Georgia, the plot revolves around Charlie who is terrified of strangers and pretends to be a foreigner who does not understand English to avoid conversation.  Charlie finds himself privy to assorted secrets and scandals among the other guests-which include evil plans of a minister,his pregnant fiancee, and a racist county inspector. The twists of the comedy sets up the wildly funny climax where the "good guys" triumphantly win over the villains.
